Just wondering if anyone has a suggestion for "My First Video Game" for my son. He's shown a real interest in using the laptop and I figure that it wouldn't hurt to get him started with something educational now - maybe that way he wouldn't start messing with Civ.
True, I may have timed this poorly since he has discovered that outside is an absolute blast. We had ducks in our yard yesterday after he went outside at the gym and we had a picnic at the local park. Today he ran to the gate and indicated, through sign language, that he wanted "more outside." Translation: He wanted to go to the church's jungle gym next door.
So any non-online game suggestions would be appreciated. Especially if they could encourage his vocal language use.

We had a video game set for Aidan when he was small called "Max and Oyo." Very Japanese-ish. It came with a keyboard that straps over the real keyboard with special "kid" keys. But it has all sorts of color and shapes games. You could try ours out sometime. Also Aidan was a big fan of Blues Clues games. Now, Sim Tower and Stronghold. Liam . . . not so interested in anything that would involve him sitting down in order to operate.
Here's a suggestion: DONT BUY VIDEO GAMES FOR TINY KIDS. End of suggestion. Duh!
Pogo
Good point, but you may have not needed to entertain a child during a 36 hour trip half way around the world - an event that will be happening in the next few months. Even keeping him entertained while preparing dinner can be challenging.
But the underlying truth is that I'm also just curious to see what games for toddlers are out there.
Curious to know who you are. College friend or stranger?
J.
